The arm should be maintained at heart level during blood pressure readings. However, existing vital sign monitors lack a place to rest the arm.
The Accurest solves this issue by providing an attachable and adjustable platform to new and existing vital sign monitors.
Your heart is known for pumping blood throughout the body.
While your blood is in circulation, it exerts force on the walls of your arteries.
This force is known as blood pressure and it can be a good determinant of your heart's health.
A normal blood pressure falls anywhere between 90-120 mmHg systolic pressure and 60-80 mmHg diastolic.
Ex: 110/70 mmHg
When the force exerted on the walls of your arteries is less than 90/60 mmHg, you are classified as hypotensive. This can be accompanied with dizziness and fainting as a result of your brain not receiving enough blood from the heart.
On the other hand, when the force exerted on the walls of your arteries is higher than 120/80 mmHg, you are classified as hypertensive. If left untreated, hypertension could lead to heart disease or stroke.
